I am making some homebrew spells of various levels and the level scaling does not seem to be working. I have looked at forums with explanations/diagrams and compared them to copies of official spells and they seem to be set up the same so I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You could also try starting with a spell that does what you want then change it from there. Observe what features the spell has so you will know how to do it from scratch.

I think the only difference is usng Additional Points instead of Additional Count.
Additional Count is for something like eldritch blast, magic missile or scorching ray which creates more beams/missiles/rays.

I have a 3rd level spell that does 4d6 acid damage initially and then an additional d6 for each level above it.
Here is a doc with screenshots.
