I did a "mouse-over" the number to check if the right modifiers were being used.
In the earlier post, the displayed Stealth roll of 19 matched what the info from the Dice Roll (3+16=19). In the later post, the displayed Stealth roll was 19, but the Dice Roll info did not match it (20+3=23).

I just noticed that one of my posts (5537) d-d-beyond-general/play-by-post/33545-the-long-road-dragon-heist-game-thread?comment=5537 ... has "This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results" even though the post was never edited (and the warning message wasn't there on May 27th. Also, the results are different. (The cultist had something like 12 instead of 3, and Drusk had something like 8 instead of 15.)

More often than not, the mouse-over is giving me inaccurate information. That isn't a problem when I'm doing the roll, but it is a pain when I'm the DM double checking if a player used the right bonus on their roll.
I just rolled a 1d20 + 5 for a result of 12. The pop-up window from putting the mouse cursor over the result shows 11 + 3 = 14.

I've seen players in every PbP campaign I'm in complain about die results changing or causing problems, but I haven't seen any official responses to this problem (or this thread). It would be nice to know if there are any temporary work-arounds, or an estimated timeline that this will be fixed.

Would it help if I posted with every instance of the dice-roller screwing up? I mean, maybe the powers that be don't play on the forums even one tiny bit and so they haven't seen the frequency with which it happens. </sarcasm>
Here's another example of a post where the hover popup does not agree with what is printed (or what was written then posted). This post was edited because the first time it gave the rolls were not available for this section error.
It seems to be getting worse. I had a character shoot two arrows, and I was curious if the halfling luck made a difference.
None of the mouse-overs was even close to the displayed results. (The mouse over shows arrow damage as d20 or d20+3, although those numbers are unrelated to the actual damage results..)

Bumping this thread, as these problems continue to happen. I'm still hoping that support staff might comment eventually, or that more players report this.
Editing a post to add more text (no additional rolls) more often than not brings up the "manipulated rolls" warning, when it shouldn't. Every so often, the mouse-over to show the details of the die rolls gets messed up. And despite the lack of other commenters in this thread, there are a lot of players commenting off-line about seeing this buggy behavior.

This problem is increasingly common. Here's another post without any edit, yet all of the rolls have been "manipulated" and re-rolled. Can we at least get an acknowledgment that this is an issue that has been seen?
I just did a post with 6 rolls (3 attacks with a to-hit and damage rolls).
Only the first roll had correct mouse-over information. The next 3 had mouse-over info completely unrelated to the number shown or what was actually rolled. The last 2 have a spinning circle without showing any additional info.
(EDIT: I've filled out a web "request" form, so if I receive any relevant information or feedback, I'll copy it here.)

I got a "we received your request" message, so at least the problem is being passed up the food chain.
The customer service person who responded added an interesting bit of info at the end. Since I don't do web services programming, it will be interesting to find out how much trouble that will be.
Thanks for sending this feedback in, I will pass this on to the team so they can collate this feedback for future improvements.
I will note though, the forum dice roller was something created by another user and provided to the team to implement. I am not sure if there is the ability to change this tool, as updates to browsers may not work with the original dice code.

(Not to take away from the actual bug reporting with speculation, but I had heard this about the dice roller, too, that it was user created and a cool “bonus” to the forum games. If it isn’t officially supported, it would be cool if they worked to integrate the Campaign/Game Log with the forums… but I’m not holding my breath.)

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
I've given up. I had yet another post display the red banner of cheating despite the post not having been edited. I did not edit it, and there is no indication on the post that it has been edited. So now, in games where the DM allows this, I will be using the GameLog and rolling on my character sheet. It's more involved than using the forum die roller, but screw this. If DDB weren't my only outlet for playing D&D, I might just ditch the whole thing, this has pissed me off so much.

I suspect any attention they have is focused on 1D&D and the VTT they are developing. But what I find funny is they think people will have faith in a VTT when they can't even get basic dice rolling working... But that's just me, I'm grumpy and a curmudgeon.

I just had a player who got the "This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results" warning message on a post.
There were no edits to the post, so this shouldn't have happened.

A different issue with how the dice roller info is presented.
I was looking at two recent posts (5526 and 5527) in a campaign.

Popups and original code (seen when hitting Edit) and results printed do not agree. Getting really tired of this, DDB.

Here's an example of the rollover pop-up not matching the posted dice code. Post says 15 (and was 1d20+11), pop-up says 18 (and claims to be 1d20+5).

I'll add a bump to this thread. The problem has gone from intermittent to near-constant across my games.
Here's a very recent example where there's no edit but the roll has somehow manipulated itself:
