If you create a cleric subclass by selecting the Arcane, Death, or Life Domain as template (and perhaps others), the Domain Spells feature isn't there (to easily swap domain spells). But if you choose the Grave or Forge Domain (and perhaps others), the Domain Spells feature is there to edit as needed...
I'm glad someone has already asked this - I am making a Death Domain Cleric, but as it's a Night Hag, I need to make one simple change: the spellcasting stat should be Charisma. It should be pretty simple, homebrew a subclass and simply change the stat from Wisdom to Charisma. Except the Death Domain template doesn't come with the Domain spell list, and I have no idea how to add it so that the character will automatically have those specific spells prepared. I even copied what information I found in the Grave template over and adapted it to the Death Domain, but those spells don't show up as prepared.
I assume this is something that was forgotten for a few domains, or just a general issue that wan't encountered before. I would appreciate any help offered! Or simply those spells added to a subclass template for the other domains. Or maybe a guide on how to add always prepared spells for Clerics through a subclass template.
Once you've edited the domain spell list in the Domain Spells feature, you need to go to the "add spells" section below the feature and add each domain spell separately. Click "yes" for the question "always prepared?", and put in the class level at which the spell is acquired.
The spells will then show up on the character sheet.
When creating a revised version of a spell (e.g. to modify class availability), the homebrew subclasses do not show up in the box where we usually add spell class availability. If that was implemented, I'm guessing this would be another way to make sure the subclass domain spells show up on your sheet. (Although, this would create a second homebrew version of an existing spell, cause the original one would stay the same). But right now, you need to add the spells "always prepared" using the subclass creator (as explained above).
I did those things, but they still didn't show up in the character sheet spell list. However, I think I shall try again and see if maybe something else was the problem...

Omission for certain domains?
