i see the stats on Giant Lizard in the Monsters section where the description mentions that they can be used as mounts. In the character builder equipment section we have the option of selecting ponies, wagons, etc, but I cannot choose giant lizards as a mount option. Is this an oversight?

Kind of, but it's an oversight that WotC made, not the guys here at D&D Beyond. There's no official price (in this edition) for a giant lizard mount because it's not a "typical campaign" sort of thing (scare quotes because all of my favorite campaign settings have reptiles as mounts in one place or another, and it seems like the rule books never accommodate the wide range of cool stuff that a campaign setting can/will have).

Hopefully there will be something done about it so that the character building software here can accommodate things that happen in various campaigns and settings.

Thanks for the explanation. Do you think there will be a point where we can create homebrew stats for Giant Lizards, dinosaurs, or other mounts? We can create items of other categories like weapons, or cloaks.

 The Giant Riding Lizard is provided as a mount with stats in Out of the Abyss, I would assume you have added it as part of that purchaseable product?

The stats for Giant lizard are available under monster, just not under equipment. I’ve noticed it doesn’t have the tag “mount” only “misc creature.”

Spiderclimb of drow mounts is kinda what we are used to from Salvatore's novels...kinda heartbreaking to see those stats.
