On my "Test Character" I was adding a custom homebrew cantrip "Force-Empowered Rend" but for some reason it wont let me delete it from the spells. Ive tried doing it directly from the manage spells button and the character forge menu. Every time I hit the delete button it gives me:
Whoops! We rolled a 1 on our API check. We're heading into town to visit the blacksmith for repairs.
Edit: to be clear it is stuck as a prepared spell on the character sheet and cannot be removed.
Edit: Solved!! I fixed the problem. I deleted the private homebrew spell from my homebrew collection and it deleted it from the character sheet. I believe the issue was that I updated the spell without deleting it from the character sheet. Thus the spell on the sheet was the unupdated version and since it is a private homebrew there are no saved versions. Deleting the spell from my homebrew collection removed it from the sheet. Then I just restored the homebrew spell and can continue as normal.
I noticed you commented on the spell, but I can't see it anymore. I can't see your manage spells list, just the ones you have prepared, but I'm wondering if you can't get rid of it because you still had the "Steel Defender" feat active in the Test Character? The feat automatically adds the spell, so that may be why it isn't removable.
I know that under the spell name in the spells tab it tells you where the spell came from.
Not sure if these notes will help, but hopefully you can get it sorted out.
Hello thank you for your reply! Yes I have been trying to create a feat that adds all the interactions of the steel defender. I made a custom cantrip which is the one I mentioned in my op that gets added by the feat. When I was experimenting with the charactersheet I added the cantrip on its own outside of the feat and that is the one I cannot remove. It is a private custom cantrip but it shows the old version of it on the sheet and not what I have updated on it. I know that there is a bug if you delete a custom spell you cannot remove it from the sheet and you just restore the spell then you can delete it. However, I changed the spell completely and there is no way for me to revert it back. It is not a problem for my test character because i can simply delete the character sheet. However this problem is also stuck on one of my actual PCs sheets.

Try again after a Short Rest.
