I'm trying to translate a character from paper to digital, a Hill Dwarf Ranger Drakewarden, but am having trouble finding which elements are available to purchase to get a realistic idea of how much one character costs. I own the physical source books, but nothing on DnDBeyond yet.
Race - Hill Dwarf - Free
Class - Ranger - Free
Sub-class - Drakewarden - 1.99 from Fizban's Dragons
Background - Earthspur Miner - Not available to purchase from Princes of the Apocalypse
Expanded Ranger Spells - Not available to purchase from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything (specifically, Meld Into Stone and Dominate Beast)
Spell - Guardian of Nature - 1.99 from Xanathar's Guide to Everything
Feat - Resilient - 1.99 from PHB
Item - Dragon-Touched Focus - 1.99 from Fizban's Dragons
Item - Draconic Gifts - Not available to purchase from Fizban's Dragons
So, cost to build one character: $8 for the parts I can buy, and the other parts either aren't available at all.
Beyond the standard free ones, are Backgrounds just not available to purchase?
Or are Backgrounds part of the Compendiums? Same with Draconic Gifts and and Extended Ranger Spells? Would appreciate advice for whether the compendiums work that way or not.
If the missing/red features would show up if I bought the compendiums for Fizban's/Tasha's/Princes of the Apocalypse...$68 for one character?
Compendiums are read-only versions of the books, they don't interact with the character sheet builder at all, other than allowing you to read the text in order to recreate something in the homebrew tools.
I've never heard of the Earthspur Miner background, and searching the site for the word 'Earthspur' only brings up one result, which doesn't involve backgrounds. Is it possibly an adaptation from another background?
Meld Into Stone and Dominate Beast are both available free. To apply them to your ranger, make a copy using the homebrew tools and in the 'available for classes' section add ranger. The expanded spell options, as with all the expanded options in TCoE, are only available if you purchase the whole book (not the compendium version).
Draconic Gifts don't work at all just like the Epic Boons from the DMG don't work, but you should be able to make an item or a feat that mimics them using the homebrew tools.
Thank you. $8 for a character, plus homebrew for the rest sounds much more reasonable!
Earthspur Miner is listed externally (not on this site) as a Background from Princes of the Apocalypse (a variant of Outlander), but it doesn't seem like Backgrounds can be purchased.

Currently homebrewing the Mistveil Rogue, an elusive infiltrator that can vanish into thin air.

Googling suggests it might be from an AL source related to PotA. Outlander can be purchased from the PHB, if you wanted to purchase that and tweak it.
