I created a homebrew feat for my campaign, one which was specific to a single PC in the group. I sent the campaign link to my players and the first player who arrived filled out her PC sheet. I took a look, and the homebrew feat was part of the VIEW. When I go to EDIT, I don't see the feat anywhere. She is a 4th level, half-elf Bard with no feats, so I don't know why it shows up.
I see no way to remove it from the VIEW, so I can only assume it is a bug? Granted I am new to the platform, but I am fairly proficient figuring out most web technology, but this has me stumped. Similarly, I created a homebrew weapon (machete) and I can't seem to get it to appear in her items list. Does it need to be published? Even though it is a homebrew item for my own campaign?
I didn't find any answers regarding these (at least not with a quick search), so rather than spend a week searching the forum archives, I figured I give a shout out on my own thread.
Bah.... 30 seconds after I posted, I went back and saw what I missed.... thanks for confirming, though. Still, any reason why a custom item does NOT show? I created a Machete (based off of a Scimatar) and it doesn't show as a viable weapon
You need to check if the character has proficiency in Scimitar. If not, the machete will show up if you un-toggle "Proficient" in the "Add Items" section of the Inventory.

Thanks!
For a homebrew item to show up on your sheet on in your player's sheet, there is no need to be published.
When you go to EDIT of your player's character, the feat should be as an option in Ability Score Increase.

Ok, I see it. I had forgotten that though she was a bard, I allowed her to use a machete, which is technically a martial weapon.
Thanks, again.
