I am new to DnD, looking forward to start my first campaign with a bunch of friends in a month or so. I have bought the Starter kit containing the Lost Mines of Pandelver, the Essentials Kit and a Players Handbook. When i opened the Essentials Kit i realized that i got codes for something called DnDBeyond and i got excited to learn that its a digital tool that can help in my campaigns.
But i also got kind of saddened to realize that the characters me and my friends can create can not benefit from all the cool stuff in the Players Handbook unless i buy a digital copy. I did get a 50% discount code for the Players Handbook in my Essentials Kit (but the Players Handbook is already 40% off without any code so its basically 10%). So im wondering, is there any way for me to unlock the Players Handbook on DnDBeyond without having to basically spend money for the Players Handbook twice?
DnDBeyond seems like an awesome tool to supplement physical games of DnD, not something that we would exclusively use instead of physical meet ups, so its kind of weird that i can buy a physical book that contains information that i then cant get into my character sheets on DnDBeyond.
