Do you have any extensions that may be interfering? Beyond20, AboveVTT, ad-blockers, VPNs, etc... You might try disabling these all, as they can potentially have unintended side effects.

I have been getting it myself, and yes I run an ad-blocker however dndbeyond is whitelisted in there.
The issue happens if you update something on the sheet such as increasing the level of the character or something else within. Then you go and click the "View Sheet" button within 5 seconds, or quicker, of doing that change. It then causes the system to try and read the character sheet from the server while it is saving it, so you end up getting that error while that is happening. Give it about 15 seconds before clicking the View Sheet link and see if that works, otherwise just a matter of going back to your sheets and reopening it. Also be careful if you have multiple copies of your sheet open to different pages, I do that myself when running split screen, that can cause that to happen if you go and refresh one of those pages after updating something on the sheet from the Edit Character section.
I did have beyond20 but I removed the extension, I also don't have any add blockers turned on or VPNs. It occurs on my desktop and mobile (more so on mobile) if that matters.
It's not about whitelisting - any extensions you are running, and and VPN or antivirus software has the potential to interfere wit any website.
The check is to disable all extensions, and other software that could be affecting the site, check whether or not you still have the same issue - if yes, the staff may suggest other checks to make, and ask for other information. If the issue does not occur with the extensions disabled, you can then try re-enabling them one at a time till either they are all turned back on, or you can reliably identify which of them is causing the issue.
The whitelisting with the adblocker I use completely DISABLES the adblocker for the site. And if the error is on the user end, why would the error state its server end?
Why do you think I put the information regarding the saving of the char on the server end being the lead cause, because when an api error occurs that is where it ends up being. So please can we stop assuming that its end user when it comes to any api errors, if the site has been working for them without issue, then its not because of any vpn/adblocker issue because THAT would be causing the issue even on a refresh. Also the api error is occurring BEFORE the page loads and is being sent by the server, again pointing to the lead issue of the trying to get the information on the char while its trying to save since it takes that little bit longer before throwing up the return api error instead of the char sheet page.
However, what I have found when watching the site load is that in Chrome when I have any page load up for dndbeyond, done by pressing F12 and then looking at the Console tab after its finished, it throws up the following "DevTools failed to load source map: Could not load content for" with a 403 error that lead to the media subdomain. Does it even if you are going to make a new char.
I am now having the same issue and cannot seem to get it corrected. I do not run any extensions and am using Safari, it was working fine for me until a few days ago. Has anyone been able to find a way to correct this?
The problem seems to be with the Safari update. It's been happening for a few days. Switching to another browser seems to work. I'm using Firefox right now. The newest version of safari is causing problems on other sites. Apple is aware of the problem. The mods reported it but so far we haven't heard from DBB if there is a fix.
It seems to work fine on the app - phones and tablets.

That's interesting since it was working correctly when using Safari on my iPhone which also has the most recent update. Thanks for the info, I couldn't find that anywhere else!

I have been using Chrome, on both my phone and pc. I wonder if switching to firefox would help.
Me too. Whenever I go from the View Sheet to the Editor, the character builder freezes. It prevents me from even using my computer. When DDB freezes in that way, I can't click on any other apps, so I had to shut down my computer. I'm not using any VPNs or extensions.

This is most definitely not an extension error issue. I made a character a few days ago no problem, now, any time it attempts to load backgrounds, it crashes. I have tried on Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and even Edge. I specifically downloaded Firefox to test it and never use Edge, so, neither has any extensions period and I have disabled extensions on both Opera and Chrome entirely and it is the exact same issue. When I go to the Description page, I get an infinite loading Icon for the Backstories and then it crashes. Everything else works and I have tried with making new characters and loading old ones. It does not matter.

While creating characters dndbeyond.com keeps crashing.

Might not be related but might also be something that isnt known about by the devs, so here is it.

The issue has been resolved, per mods in other threads, but Firefox would have been fine, as the issue was Safari-specific.
