Two basic ways of doing this, depending on what you want. But in side of each there are a number of decisions depending on if you own the old campaign. All of them, require the other players help to join a another campaign. The methods below do require a bit of trust when playing with UNASSIGN functions, as they are GIVING you the character. Some folksmight be relucant to do that. This is why I use copy on my characters on campaigns...both to model levelling, and having a back up, as a DM can alter everything on a character in their campaign. Of course the very last option this isn't an issue. But you probably should have a subscription that allows unlimited characters if you use the copy method.
Actually moving the character
If you are the creator of a campaign, then from the campaign, and look at active characters.
If you are the owner of the old campaign and own the charactrer:
On the character that you wish to move, click on LEAVE.
Then, click on the the new campaign links join URL.
If you are the owner of the old campaign, and don't own the character
On the character that you wish to move, click on LEAVE.
(another option is to DELETE the campaign, but you might not want to do that.)
Then, give the other players new campaign URL link, and they can join the campaign.
If you aren't the owner of the old campaign and don't own the character.
Option 1
The other players will need to each click on LEAVE.
Then, give the other players new campaign URL link, and they can join the campaign.
Option 2
For each other character:
The owning player need to click on UNASSIGN
After they do so, you join the old campain link and assign the character to yourself
It is now YOUR character, and you can follow the instructions to join the new campain.
In the new campaign, unassign the character.
Give the old player the URL to the new campaign, and let them reclaim their character.
Copying the characters
This first option only works for yoiu on characters you own, but the other players can do this as well to join your campaign.
Go to the character (not the campaign) in MY CHARACTERS
Click Copy.
Click the new campaigns URL, and join with the copied character.
Other players
They would need to click UNASSIGN in the old campaign
You would need to CLAIM each one by repeatedly using the old campaign join. This makes it yours.
Copy each character
Use the Join URL on the new campaign for each one.
UNASSIGN the characters and let the player claim them.
Last Option: Manual
If you can view the other players characters in the old campaign, you can rebuild each one by hand.
Recreate the character from inside the campaign
have players claim the character with the new campaign URL
NOTE: unless you are a DM, you cannot see some sections of a character sheet, namely description (which has the background) and notes.
I am starting a new campaign. Can I move my players pcs from one campaign to another campaign? If so, how would I do this? Thanks.
