Purchases take longer to process when done through the app (can be on the order of days) because they have to be processed and verified by the app store's servers and then synced with the website's servers, and DDB has no control over how long the app store takes to accomplish that.
I just opened a ticket for this on my account. I would add this to the subscription page on the mobile to inform users of this, to avoid unneeded frustration on both sides, since now support needs to deal with a ticket that could probably be closed...
