The Player is a rogue, and they picked the feat Magic Initiate, they choose the spell Green Flame Blade.
After hitting a creature, the flame hits another nearby creature. When the player clicks the damage effect on their sheet, the spell on their sheet returns "damage: undefined".
After some digging, it was determined that because the player is a rogue and took the magic initiate feat, they lack the "spell casting feature" and thus do not have a "spell mod".
Since the damage uses the player's spell mod to deal damage, it has nothing to references and returns a null value instead of their spell casting ability mod.
Dude the feat automatically grants you a spellcasting ability when you choose which class you want spells from.
”Your spellcasting ability for these spells depends on the class you chose: Charisma for bard, sorcerer, or warlock; Wisdom for cleric or druid; or Intelligence for wizard.“
Clicking the spell "effect" always returns with the same result. "0 damage.
And yes, I understand that's what the feat is supposed to do, but I can literally look at their character sheet, and it doesn't show any spell mod, spell attack, or any of the relevant spell casting features that they should have for spell casting.
Their feat is selected correctly. (Magic Initiate: Wizard), and they selected all their spells.
