Hey there, I am a master subscriber and for some reason I am not able to create or run encounters from my account. It is synced, and paid with no saved encounters at this time.
I am able to run encounters from the same computer on another account. It doesn't matter what campaign, even a new generic one.
Have contacted support, and they took a week just to ask me to prove who I am...
Anyone got any tips or have run into this and know a solution? Workaround at this time is to run encounters from a different account....but that doesn't solve the issue.
Has anyone else had this problem? Customer Support ended up sending me the following:
"Thank you for contacting Wizards of the Coast Customer Support! At this time Customer Support has no further details regarding this D&D Beyond content but can assure you it has been escalated directly to our development team to be addressed. Our specific team is limited to providing information currently available to the public through announcements and articles."
Which is great and all, but this seems account specific and not something global.
I had this happen for a little bit yesterday when I was trying to build some encounters, and one of my players had tried going between levels 6 & 7 to see what was difference, and ended up resetting half his character. Until he went back and reselected everything, and I waited a couple hours for it all to sync across everything, I was unable to save anything. Once everything was corrected and then synced back up, I'm no longer encountering that error message.
I would recommend checking your players' characters by going into the character builder for each character, and make sure nobody has anything missing from a selection (e.g. skills, proficiencies, etc.).
We are up to two weeks now since i have contacted support, and i am still unable to create encounters on this account. I have been able to create and run from an unsubscribed account on the same computer with the same campaign.
This is the most recent response from a Support supervisor:
Hey, Thank you for following up. A solved status in our system simply indicates that a response to your most recent message has been sent and we are not expecting or needing another response from you. This does not mean we have stopped working on the back end to resolve your request. I’ll be glad to help you further if you have any other questions or concerns! Missy Customer Service Representative
Which tells me that i am now in absolute Limbo regarding if this will get fixed.

You should be happy for this answer you received, my friend
Just trying to think of things to eliminate or narrow down issues, and likely you've already tried this, but doesn't hurt to ask; if you remove the party altogether when creating a new encounter, is it still giving the error? Likewise making the encounter with just a single Basic Rules/PHB creatures, nothing exotic?
Have you tried a different browser with its cache totally cleared? I know you said you did it from an account with no subscription and that worked; couldn't rule out that there's a funky cache issue with the browser (even if it's unlikely, worth trying at this point I'd think).
Hope you get the cause figured out soon, definitely would frustrate me to no end as well.

Such problems can also sometimes be caused by intensity. As mentioned above, it makes sense to use another browser. Also try microsoft edge.

Yes, tried different browsers and different machines including another computer, tablet and well the browser on my phone. Have cleared cache, cookies and history. Tried with different groups, and a premade party, against a wolf... Still get the error message from my paid account. Can log out, and log into another account with a character that is in that party and run the encounter just fine.
OKAY! So it took a month but the situation was taken care of and encounters are now working on my main account. Only complaint would be being put into CS limbo, and nothing offered due to the inconvenience, which is kind of understandable since the system is still in "Beta".
Hey,
Thank you for providing that information. It appears that our developers have recently pushed out an update to address this issue. Please be sure to clear your browser's cache and cookies before trying again.
Let us know if you continue to have issues!

This has happened to me as well. When it does, I first refresh the page or go back to editing while on the same page and then save again.
This happens no matter what group I am using. Even the premade.
