I'm building a barbarian and for a subclass I'm only getting path of the berserker as an option  I also can't seem to figure how to get path of the totem warrior as a subclass.

Did you buy the PHB on D&D Beyond? Only the berserker is in the 5e SRD (free rules).

No I didn't. How do I get that subclass?

If you want to make a Totem Warrior barbarian in the Character Creator you can do one of the following:

• Purchase the Player's Handbook here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/marketplace/source/players-handbook
• Purchase just the Totem Warrior Barbarian subclass (follow the same link as above, just scroll down a little)
• Enter it yourself into the homebrew system
• Be in a campaign where someone already owns the PHB and content sharing is enabled

To give a bit more information on this option since you seem new to beyond, content sharing is an option granted to people who have a Master Subscription. Those people can activate content sharing in up to 3 campaigns, which let any character in the campaign have access to anything that is owned that at least one player in that campaign.

I have a problem where I have the players handbook but it the totem warrior path isn't listed

If you are the one who owns the PHB, go here. Check:

• Under Current Product Licenses, make sure that it lists the Player's Handbook, and that the type is not Compendium. If you bought the Compendium, that only allows you to read the material on the site, not use it in the character builder.
  • If this is the case, you can buy the full PHB to use in the character builder for only the remaining cost of the full book, you haven't wasted any money.
• Under Account Entitlements - that it says your data is in sync.
  • If not, it should provide a button or a link to sync your data. Do so. You may also need to refresh your character sheet (level it up then back down, or hit the DM inspiration button twice)
• If you don't see it anywhere, but you're 100% sure you bought it, you can try reaching out to support to see if you might've accidentally created a second login (this happens more often than you'd think) and some of your purchases are on that other account. Note that it's a holiday weekend in the US, so replies will probably be slow. Don't bump your ticket or make more than one, it slows things down more.

If you aren't the one who owns the PHB, have whoever's sharing it confirm they own the full PHB, and have whoever's providing content sharing for your campaign turn it off then on again (after confirming that their master tier subscription is still active).

 I have this problem too.  I own all of the content.
