I was looking for a way to increase the spells known by a character (either through a custom item or feat) such that the character will use their normal spell slots to cast. I know we can add spells through charges (which I don't want) or we can leave charges blank which denotes it as will, but I want the PC to have to use their own slots for the casting of both.
Basically I want to add one known cantrip (players choice) and a specific spell to a PC either as an item or a feat (or an item that grants a feat). I don't know if this is missing or just difficult to find... I did attempt to copy magic initiate's spell section to add the additional cantrip but it didn't seem to increase my demo character's known spells count (arcane trickster fwiw).
Finally, a bug I noticed when I was looking into this I noticed that adding spell slots did not seem to work as subcategory was unfillable (via custom feats).
Any help would be appreciated (and sorry if this is the wrong sub forum).
