The dndbeyond character builder PDF export feature has improved in many ways since it was first implemented, but the issues with the "Description" information are far too frustrating for a paid service.
All of the "Description" information fields have issues, including Background, Personality Traits, Ideals, Bonds, Flaws, Character Appearance, Allies & Organizations, and Additional Notes. There are three issues here:
1) For Personality Traits, Ideals, Bonds, and Flaws, the text size is huge and the number of characters allowed very small. Even just a moderately in-depth character attribute will be cut off here. The text isn't just not visible due to font size - it's completely cropped out. Make these text boxes have a far larger max character limit and allow the font to get smaller, at least 10pt. Right now it doesn't seem to want to go below 14.
2) Line breaks appears to crop the text in some cases.
3) [minor issue] Strange characters, in particular €, often pop up. The text fields on dndbeyond.com should be parsed better to only allow usable characters.
I honestly believe that they don’t really expect a lot of people to export and print. The whole point of this website’s main service is to provide a digital, interactive character sheet that can be run from any mobile device such as phones or tablets. Printable PDFs was like an afterthought it seems.
It's been this long and yeah it's still absolutely broken as it was years ago. They KNOW that this is broken, there's no way that they could have missed this. That they think people don't want a hard copy that is functional says volumes, and it's a disappointing volume.
If you can edit the PDF's, you can fix the issue by shrinking the font, but I don't want to pay a $15 a month sub just to be able to print character sheets.

Why would you? A sub is only $5/month. Annual is only $65+tax
I had the same issue with the 5e fillable character sheet pdf provided by WotC. This is 3 years too late, but I found an unsatisfactory workaround that fixed the issue...
My issue was with the Features & Traits section. The box would be filled with the relevant information but when I went to print, the field would disappear. I copied the text and created a text box with the copied information, scaling it to be slightly smaller than the Features & Traits box. This should work for other fields if the dimensions are smaller than the box.

How on Earth is this functionality not fixed? I have trouble believing this is not resolved after two years. Its so quirky as to beggar description.

I hope this helps anyone having a similar issue.
I desire this fixes as well. surly it isnt hard to add more sheets to the export.
