Not sure if this is problem with me or the app (likely me) but I've never DMd on DnD Beyond before, and I wanted all my players to start with three levels of their chosen class and one level of bard, but at level three not all of them have high enough abilities to add a second class. None of their scores have changed from level one to level three, does anyone know why this might be?
The earliest any character gets an ability score increase is at level 4 (for single-classed characters). You can refer to any class table to see when that class gets those increases.
If you want to let them add a bard level regardless of their current ability scores, they can turn off multiclassing prerequisites in their character settings.
There’s two ways to get to your character settings: - While editing the character sheet, go to the Home tab. - While viewing the character sheet, click the character portrait, then select “Character Settings” in the sidebar.
In either case, find the “Use Prerequisites” section and uncheck “Multiclass Requirements”.
