I'm using the Sidekick rules to make my wolf more robust. Friday Wolf (Warrior class, CR5) has: Skills:Acrobatics +5, Athletics +5, Perception +6, Stealth +5.
The problem is that when I add my Friday Wolf Sidekick (named Pebble) to my character Leif, the EXTRAS section of my character sheet shows Skills: Athletics +2, Acrobatics +2, Stealth +2, Perception +1.
I've reviewed the Skills configuration for Friday Wolf, deleted and re-added after several hours for refresh (but FW never had those +1/+2 skill values), and confirmed the issue persists in another browser on another Mac (per D&DB Support, who then told me Homebrew is not supported). Has anyone else seen a discrepancy like this? Any suggestions for getting the correct values on my character sheet?
If you added them to the Sidekicks category in Extras, that category follows the sidekick rules from DOIP, not the ones from TCOE. As such, your statblock will be altered according to those rules.
Try adding it under another category like "Misc", which applies no additional rules.
Thanks! I don't have DOIP and didn't know Sidekick was using different rules. That helped but didn't completely do the trick. I removed the Sidekick tag, deleted the Friday Wolf, and added it back as a Pet. Now I get this:
The base Wolf Monster has Perception +5 with Wis 12, CR 1/4, & PB +2. Under Tasha's Sidekick rules CR should match my character level (5), which means Proficiency Bonus is now +3 and Perception is +6.

So whatever's going on with that block, it should have Expertise, which would put it at a +7. The Wolf, having Perception +5 with a Wis of 12 (+1) and PB of +2, has Expertise to get there.
Figured it out. To get Expertise to work properly, you need to utilize both the Base Value and Additional Bonus blocks.
Base Value for this should be 4 (Wis + PB). Additional Bonus should be 3 (PB for Expertise). I tested with one of my own custom blocks and moving the entire bonus into the Base Value had it ignore the Expertise portion and treat it as base Proficiency, no matter the number.

Perception should be +6, but the other three are correct. I deleted and re-added as Misc, but it looks the same (Perception still +4).
Why is Perception +6? It should never be a +6 with those stats. +4 is correct for proficiency, and +7 would be expertise.

That worked. Now Perception is +7, which makes sense if we attribute the original +5 to Expertise. Thanks very much, Athanar90!
