I've been noticing this over the past couple of weeks - but wondering if anyone else has.
Everytime I try to use a link on the sidebars (specifically a link that points to an anchor tag on the same page) - the link just doesn't work.
The URL in the browser updates to the anchor tag, and the cursor changes shape as if I'm hovering over a valid link, but the page does not advance or retreat to the actual tag within the same page.
As an example - I'm in the Rules Glossary of the 2024 Player's Handbook at the very top of the page.
I scroll down on the side bar to the very bottom and see the link for Unoccupied Space. I hover over the link, my cursor changes shape and I see the URL I'm hovering over as www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/phb-2024/rules-glossary#UnoccupiedSpace. Now, if I right click and select open in a new tab - the page opens up and travels to the Unoccupied Space tag on the page in the new tab, but if I just click the link to scroll down to the Unoccupied Space tag, nothing happens. The URL in the browser windows updates as if I HAD travelled down the page, but the page itself does nothing.
This happens with any anchor tag I click on (adventures, source books, whatever).
It's really annoying when I'm running a session and I'm trying to navigate to a specific room in a chapter, or trying to find a rule on the page....
Do you get the same issue in Chrome's Incognito Mode? If not, there's probably some browser configuration that's interfering -- possibly a browser extension.
Yeah - it's gotta be an extension. Anchor tags work in incognito mode.
Thing is - I don't have a lot of extensions. 1Password, Reddit Enhancement Suite, uBlock, Google Docs Offline, Reader Mode, Enable Right Click, and TeslaFi Tesla Token Generator.
I'll experiment with disabling them and see where that gets me.
EDIT: Looks like it was the Reader Mode (2.0.4) extension that conflicts. Disabling that one seems to fix the issue.

It's working fine for me. Do you get the same issue in another browser or on another device?

Yes - Chrome on my Windows PC and Chrome on my MacBook - in both of those the anchor tags fail.
I'll be honest - I didn't think to check other browsers.
Just used Edge on my Windows PC and Safari on the MacBook the anchor tags work...
Interesting.
What's even more interesting - still in Chrome - Sites like MS Learn that have anchor tags in them work just fine....
Weird. 8)
