So, I homebrewed a dagger. After adding it to my character sheet to test it, making sure I did it correctly, I noticed that the damage rolling block on the action page of the character sheet shows the damage as 1d8 and not 1d4 as is normal for a dagger. I went in and made sure I did everything correctly, selecting dagger as the base weapon, etc. Waited for an hr to make sure the save took in the system, and still the damage rolling block shows 1d8. Can anyone else confirm this is in the system and not my mistake somehow?

What type of character was it? I ask because, for instance, a Monk of level 5 or higher will normally deal 1d8 damage with a dagger.
If it's not that, what exact homebrew properties did you give it?
the character was in fact a level 6 2014 monk. I didn't think about trying it out on other characters or perhaps it was related to the character's class. thank you for the info, I will take another look.
ok, false alarm. I completely forgot about the monk's martial arts die being usable with simple weapons, as I normally just go unarmed strikes with monks. I tried it with another character, and it was showing 1d4. Pardon my stupidity.

No worries, it’s an easy thing to miss. Glad you got it sorted out.
