It's not legacy content, so you should be able to buy it. I just checked, and it's still available in the Marketplace on the desktop website.
Is there a particular error you're getting when trying to buy it through the mobile app? Or does it just not show up? If it's the latter, it might just be a bug with the app, but if it's the former that might be good information to include.
As for workarounds, you could try using the web browser on your phone. Navigate to dndbeyond.com, and buy it from the marketplace that way. (The mobile and desktop browser versions are not identical but since it's available on the desktop website it should be on the mobile website too. (If that doesn't work either, you might have to log in on a PC.)
So the Grung race only shows up when I go onto listing and look for races. When I do go on it, the purchase button does not work and I'm not sure what to do.
I'm trying to get the digital version because I do not want to go through the trouble of getting it through the mail.
So, this is just a guess, and I could be wrong, but try going to the Marketplace, Sourcebooks section, and buying the item called One Grung Above. I'm seeing that it costs $5 (USD). Here's a direct link, if it helps.
Grung is a "weird" race, in that it was not published in any larger sourcebook. Usually, when you buy a race piecemeal, you're buying "part" of a larger sourcebook. (To use a concrete example, if you go to Vedalken and buy that directly from the race list, you're buying one bit of content from Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica - but you're not buying the rest of that book.)
That whole structure might not really work for Grung, because Grung was never part of a bigger book. Unlike (almost?) any other race, Grung has only ever been published as a standalone bit of content, in the "book" called One Grung Above.
My guess is that the race list is set up to allow users to buy just a race without buying the whole book that the race comes from - but that something in the backend is set up in such a way that this process fails if the race literally is the whole book in question.
I don’t believe any charity offerings like this one can be purchased through the app. Otherwise Apple/Google would take a cut instead of that money going to charity.
I really want to play as the little frog man, but I cannot buy the digital version. I am using the dnd beyond app on mobile.
