Why are the free rules linked everywhere, even though I have the PHB? It makes no sense for example to have:
D&D Free Rules (2024)
Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything
Player's Handbook (2014) / Basic Rules (2014)
The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying
The Illrigger Revised
Critical Role
That looks like there is no PHB for 2024. On the site in the browser it is just annoying and has me click more often to get where I want. In the app on the other hand (which I use when GMing at the table) it wants me to download the free rules, which I don't want to, considering I own the PHB and want to use that. Why not link to the PHB first (which should be the default) and if the person doesn't own it offer to buy or use free rules. Every other book is configured like that here, except the new basic books. Even the Monsters in adventures either link to the free rules version or if searching appear up to four times. (Free Rules 2014, MHB 2014, Free Rules 2024, MHB 2024). It's not that hard to implement stuff like this but it feels like there are only a handful of people working on DNDBeyond even though we pay so much money it should be no problem to have a whole team working on basic stuff like this.
