The purpose of the "Attunement Description" field on homebrew items appears to be to list the classes that can attune to the item, and has weird interactions with the text immediately underneath the item name vs the notes beneath the item description.
Populating the field with e.g. "sorcerer"
results in "(requires attunement by a sorcerer)" underneath the item name
and appends simply ", sorcerer" to the notes beneath the item's description.
The tooltip for the Attunement Description field appears to suggest it should start with "by a" (e.g. "by a sorcerer") but this results in "requires attunement by a by a sorcerer" in the top text, and "by a sorcerer" in the notes. Having the full text "requires attunement by a sorcerer" in the Attunement Description field makes the notes look good, but then the text beneath the item name has the "requires attunement by a" text duplicated.
The notes part should probably be updated to include the "requires attunement by" text.
Grammatically, separating the pieces in this section with semicolons or periods would be better too, particularly since the notes below the item description includes the item's charge notes, which can include punctuation.
The workaround I use that works most consistently works for me on Homebrew items is to leave the attunement field blank, this adds a "(Requires attunement)" to the item header which I'm happy with. I then add any specifics about the attunement or conditions for it that I want to be known to the notes field in additional information as a full sentence.
This achieves my 2 goals of
Identifying that an item requires attunement
Being able to state the conditions of the attunement without part complete sentences on the item record or having to word the conditions to work with the prefix "Requires attunement by a" which I often find difficult if the condition isn't a class/race restriction.
