So I made a homebrew feat with the prerequisite of having the Changeling race, but it doesn't show as available for any changeling characters I create. Going into the unavailable feats section on the character sheet shows that they're missing: Changeling. Any ideas for how to make it work? Other than just not requiring prerequisites for feats.
They're characters I just made today, with the Rising from the Last War race. I think it's probably a bug, but there's at least one homebrew feat I found that has requires changeling and that does work.
Hello! The prerequisites are manually set to support official feats. There is not currently a way to set a racial prerequisite for races that have not been added in this way.
That does not mean you can't add the prerequisite in the homebrew builder! You just can't select the race from the drop-down list and have the feat "force" the user to be a changeling to see the feat.
The easiest way i found around prerequisites for characters so other people cant see them is to apply the feat for your character and then go back to the homebrew creation of the feat and change the prerequisite to level 20. The feat still applies for the character but it is not visible for others to see unless they disable the prereqs themselves for their character.
Its something I discovered for our DM in one of my campaigns who reward characters with special abilities, attacks, resistances, Charges based abilities, based off of things going on in the campaign but wants to be something specific that base DND does not have. And doing it this way prevents others from taking the feat when they level up.
You can already just open the "Unavailable Feats" menu in the character sheet for that, which is the problem. It should be showing up in the available feats but it isn't.

Are your characters the archived changeling or the new one?
There may just be a bug with that since there aren't anything that uses changeling prerequisite.
