I have been attempting to make a homebrew subrace from an already existing race. However, I have been struggling to understand and work the set up of the homebrew pages. Any guidance, advice, anything will be very appreciated.
You’ll need to create a parent Species first. Make sure to check the box for “Will Have Species Options?”. Then you can create a Species Option for each subrace.
Worth pointing out, though, that subraces have largely been phased out in official designs. Nowadays it’s typically just a choice within the species itself. If you go that route, you’d skip anything related to Species Options. Instead, you’d add a Species Trait, and then add Options to it to represent your different types.
Whichever path you take, you can always make a homebrew copy of an official species that does what you want in order to peek inside and see how it was set up.
