There have been a lot of people asking why some partnered content on DDB (e.g. Obojima subclasses, Critical Role content, etc.) does not work with the 2024 ruleset, so I'm putting this here for folks to refer to.
Put simply, we (Wizards of the Coast) don't determine whether or not partnered content gets updated to the 2024 rules, our partners do. Until they come to us and say 'yes, we're going to update this', we can't do anything with it.
Kobold Press has not yet added support for those on the 2024 classes. When choosing your class, you’ll need to scroll down and select one under “2014 Core Rules” instead. (As a workaround, you can make a homebrew copy of the 2014 subclass to see how it was set up, and then rebuild it as a 2024 subclass.)
You’ll also need both 2014 Core Rules and Kobold Press enabled for that character. If you haven’t purchased the book yourself, you’ll need to have that character assigned to a campaign where it’s shared with you.
Hi @spamandtuna , thanks for responding. Appreciated. Noted re partnered content being up to them to make 2024 compatible.
I do have the Kobold Press and 2014 and legacy boxes selected. And yet none of the subclasses from that book are available for selection. And all my entitlements are synched. And it is I who purchased the book.
I now understand what you mean by having to create from the 2014 classes.
Hmmm. Probably be good for DnDBeyond to explain to people when they're enthusiastically providing such content that it isn't in fact compatible with the 2024 rules. And not in small print. The same way that some of the DnD offerings have Legacy content warnings. The Ebon Tide book seems like a good offering. But, relying as heavily as I do on DnDBeyond, and having come into the game with the new rules, I'd prefer to know just how well the items I'm purchasing through DnD Beyond are integrated.
Eg, the Griffon's Saddlebag piece seems to do okay. Where are the indicators (again, NOT in small print, if any), that the Ebon Tides book was not integrated to the same degree?
Will certainly think twice before spending money on partnered content again.
Suggest a set of filters that allow us to see which products are integrated and to what degree. Otherwise, it kind of seems like you're hoping we'll buy the piece and not mind its shortcomings.
Saying that the updating is up to the independent provider is, while disappointing, tolerable. Hiding detail from prospective purchasers on your platform is entirely something you can fix.
Hi DnD Beyond,
Overall, love DnDB. So, thanks for that.
Tech issue: Am having issues with the subclasses presented in the Book of Ebon Tides not appearing as options. Not for mobile or for desktop version.
Please repair.
Thanks in advance!

You may also want to check and make sure your account entitlements are in sync.

To clarify: I’m just a mod here. I‘ll gladly pass along your feedback, but I have no control over the site itself.
