I made an Earth Genasi ranger in the character builder. I own the PHB 2024 and MotM through DNDBeyond. In the species description, all Earth Genasi can cast the Blade Ward cantrip and can cast it twice per day as a bonus action. However, it doesn't show up in the spell list. I can't add it using any of the spell menus. When making the character, I selected Wisdom as the ability for casting the spell. I read in one thread that deleting the character and making it again fixed the problem for some, but it didn't for my account. Seems like a bug to me.
Species from before the 2024 rules will add the 2014 versions of spells. In this case, you’d need to have the 2014 PHB in order for it to add Blade Ward.
I’d recommend making a homebrew copy of the species, though, and changing the spell to the 2024 version.
