Hi, I still play 2014 5e. I haven't made a new character in over a year but I made a bunch the other day and saw some things had changed. Where I'm having trouble is with my Half-Orc and Loxodon. Traditionally, when playing races/species printed before Tasha's Cauldron of everything, there's a toggle on the character sheet that allows you to choose between using the printed Racial Ability Increases or the Tasha's Floating Increases, but when I look now that's not there (races posted after Tasha's has Tasha's as the default). How do I change my Half-Orc and Loxodon into using Tasha's scores?

You need to make sure the "Customize Your Origin" option is checked on the Home tab of the character builder. It isn't checked by default.

Then, go to the Species tab. With "Customize Your Origin" enabled, there's a new "Origin Manager" sub-tab there; check the "Origin Ability Score Increase" box in there.

Note that if you've chosen a background from the 2024 core rules, you won't see any species-derived ability score increases at all, regardless which settings you have turned on; with the 2024 backgrounds, ability score bonuses come from the background and not the species.

I was actually coming back here to delete this because I decided to try that out and found it worked (I previously thought that option just meant non-standard background). Thank you both for replying and sorry for being silly.
