I recently purchased Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything and Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse, which were advertised as compatible with the 2024 core rules. However, during character creation, they only appear as part of the 2014 Expanded Rules.
Can someone clarify whether this content is fully aligned with the 2024 ruleset, or if this is a known issue with character creation or content tagging?
So, everything* in the book works with the 2024 characters, but it's still controlled by the "2014 expanded rules" toggle.
* Anything that got an updated version in the 2024 rules is the exception; the new version must be used if it exists, even if you don't own the book. Also, some of the stuff works weirdly on DDB.
