As the name helpfully explains one of my stat blocks has lost the button that allows toggling between the old 2014 format and the new 2024 format and has also automatically changed from the 2024 format to the 2014 format. All after I saved an edit on my monsters description. What can I do to fix the problem?
There's a good chance this is related to the Amazon Web services outage, and will resolve once that's over. We've certainly seen old versions of parts of the site popping up elsewhere.
I think we are past the AWS issues, but this is still a problem. Newly created monsters do not present the option to choose the format, and result in 2014 format. Previously existing monsters that were on 2024 format, when editing the format option is not there, and if you save any chances the resulting is it switching to 2014 format.
Seems odd that it would have stayed effected so long; but maybe it was related to the AWS stuff, since this and several other things appear to be cleared up this morning.

Cache management in distributed systems is really hard.
(Also, if they switched over to non-AWS systems to get things running, any change back has to wait on them doing it, and waiting to make sure things are stable is sensible.)

Yes I’ve just come back and it seems to be fixed the editor does seem to have the button back. Did anyone else have this problem with the editor?
