For some reason for my multiclassed 8 edrkni 4 blade singer it allows me to take expertise to athletics/arcana with the study feature instead of arcana so i can gain the expertise in arcana like i have been running on paper
I think what they mean is the 2024 Wizard's "Scholar" feature at 2nd level. It provides a drop-down of skills for you to select one to have Expertise in.
What it's supposed to do is show you a specific set of skills if you have proficiency in them: Arcana, History, Investigation, Medicine, Nature, and Religion.
What it actually does is show you a list of all the skills you're already proficient in, which in OP's case includes the Athletics proficiency they got from the Fighter class. This is the behavior of the Expertise features in the Rogue and Bard classes, but it's not how the Wizard one is supposed to work according to the rules.
