I would like to create an assassin. I purchased the Players Handbook. So the assassins as archetype should be available. But it is not. Why? All preferences are correct.
If you want to use the 2014 Assassin subclass, you need to make sure you select the 2014 Rogue class (under 2014 Core Rules).
If you already selected the 2024 Rogue class (the one at the top under Core Rules), you’ll need to remove it and select the other Rogue instead, or purchase the 2024 PHB for its version of that subclass.
