Current multiclass characters involving ranger/fighter(eldritch knight)/Rogue(arcane trickster) do NOT calculate available spell slots correctly. For example: ranger 6 + eldritch knight 3 + arcane trickster 3 should have spell slots = to a 5th level caster. Instead of the 4 x 1st level, 3 x 2nd level, 2 x 3rd level slots this character should have they are only awarded the 4 x 1st level and 2 x 2nd level they are entitled to from the ranger class. This has been an issue since inception and I'd expected it to be fixed by now.
Do Eldritch Knight & Arcane Trickster even count towards spell slot calculation?
Likewise, is this 2014 or 2024?
Yes, they do, at a rate of 1/3 (rounded down). The only difference between 2014 and 2024 rules for this is that Paladin and Ranger levels get halved and rounded down in 2014, but halved and rounded up in 2024. That doesn't affect OP's example since they have an even number of Ranger levels.
I fiddled with this a bit and I couldn't reproduce it with either 2014 or 2024 versions of the classes, though. I even tried mixing and matching and it still worked correctly.
