I am a relatively new player to D&D. D&D Beyond has been a great resource and I have really enjoyed using it both on my iPhone and on my desktop through my browser. However, I'm becoming frustrated with the site preventing me from buying any materials at all.
For over a year, when I have tried to purchase content from D&D Beyond, I have repeatedly encountered an error that says "There was a problem processing your payment. Please verify your payment information and try again." I have been trying to purchase sourcebooks, adventure books, and other content from D&D Beyond. Last year, I tried purchasing the new 2024 edition of the rules. When inputting my information, I have made absolutely certain that my credit card number is entered correctly, the expiration date is correct, and the CVV is correct. Over this year, I have tried multiple cards and multiple shipping addresses. I have always received the same error. For over a year.
Today, after getting fed up, I tried calling my bank and credit card. I was told that all the transaction attempts I have made have been legitimate, but they are being reversed by the merchant site. The error they cited is "R-EC."
When reviewing these forums, I found this Customer Support thread that suggests I need to put in a Customer Support ticket. So I have followed that link. Under the question that says "What would you like to contact us about?" there is a dropdown. In the dropdown, I selected "D&D Beyond Help." and now...
nothing. After selecting that item from the dropdown menu, nothing has happened. The page has not changed. No button has appeared. There seems to be no way to advance.
I would really appreciate a resolution. Why can I not buy any materials from D&D Beyond? It has been since before the 2024 rules were published that I have received this error. Should I just stick to obtaining the rule materials and adventure books other ways?
I am not willing to try workarounds. I know that could be a controversial or stubborn opinion. But I am not willing to find a workaround solution to buying my content. I am attempting the essential purchasing user flow. "Add to cart," "Go to Cart," "Checkout," "Input payment details," "Purchase." This is the standard flow that should allow me to buy my content, and it is not working. Why is this website reversing my transactions? I want to just buy the materials like normal.
I have been having the same issue. It is still not fixed today. The same thing is happening with multiple cards, multiple addresses, matched and not matched addresses between the shipping and billing address (which should be irrelevant because I am ordering digital book copies), and always it goes through to the bank account as a purchase, then is instantly refunded. I am going to try and contact support, and if I can get a fix, I will post it here. I guess just to update this post and say this is still an issue, and has been an issue for me over multiple different days.

It's supposedely linked to a missmatch between the address you ve entered for the order and your address registered in your bank ...
Yet, I m not able to have a successfull payement even with both address exactly equal ... I suspect I bad char conversion on DnD beyond side...
