I have seen this mentioned in several past posts, asking why there is a limit on the number of spells we can add to a homebrew magic item (currently 31, previously it was 20) and I am wondering if this has never increased from years ago because the concern about database integrity/speed is still an issue. I understand the desire to not have an unlimited number of slots, but even a level 12 Wizard's spellbook can easily have upwards of 40 spells.
Is it possible the cap could be increased to a number that would be reasonable to create a spellbook my players find that belonged to an old wizard (50 - 60 spells)? Or heck, make a spellbook for a player character who dies and their party wants to carry around at level 20 (100ish)?
Thanks for considering this request!
