Before this update to the site there was the option to roll to self that didn't show up on the log on both the DM side and the Player side.
The option still is available for the DM but on the player side there's only "Roll to DM" and "Roll to everyone" which can be distracting as random dice bounce on the player sheet of the vtt when we're in combat or in RP or the random notification "(character name) rolled custom X" pops up.
Can you please see to getting this feature back. If not I feel like I'll have to roll physical dice, which I don't mind (I say as I'm fiddling with a metal d20), for personal rolls without the DM asking "why did you roll xyz" when in the middle of combat or RP interrupting the flow of the game. I know it messes me up in my campaign as the DM and I'm reasonably sure it messes with the player from my group who is the DM of another group I'm a player in (between the players in our group we have 3 DM's who are players as well).
well a specific reason for secret rolls is the liar's dice maneuver from the gunslinger subclass high roller
Level 3: Liar’s Dice [Maneuver]
When you make a damage roll with a Ranged weapon, you can expend one Risk Die as a Bonus Action and declare it to be a hidden roll. Roll the damage in secret and declare any total you wish. The GM has the option to call your bluff, in which case you reveal the damage dice you rolled. This has different consequences based on whether or not you lied.
The GM Calls Your Bluff; You Lied. The damage you deal is halved.
The GM Calls Your Bluff; You Told the Truth. The damage you deal is doubled.
The GM Doesn’t Call Your Bluff. Use the total damage you declared, even if you rolled a different total.
other times during RP i'll for stuff like insight while the RP is happening and call for a check when theres a break in the flow of RP with my reasoning why i'm insighting. also yes we use the log.

When they first released it, there was a bug where some things had roll to DM and some had roll to Self. After some fixes, it's all Roll to DM.
What are you personal rolls for if no-one else sees them? Do you actually need the log or are you just using it as a fidget device?
