First, congratulations on the UX changes to the Token options in MAPS. It looks fantastic, and I especially like being able to add tokens to the initiative after combat starts.
If you add a creature to the initiative after combat starts, then click the "X" icon in the initiative tracker to "remove from combat", you can click the sword icon in the token UX to add them back to combat. However, if the creature was already selected for initiative when combat starts, and you remove them from combat, the sword icon in the token menu remains disabled and you cannot add them back.
To summarize:
Creatures added to initiative after combat starts can be removed from combat and added back.
Creatures that start combat already in initiative cannot be added back once removed from combat.
This is a problem for me because I tend to think the "X" icon means "close window" and not "remove from combat", so I tend to accidentally remove creatures from combat after inspecting their stats. Maybe the "X" icon could be replaced with a running man icon for "flee combat" or something.

This has been an issue for me too. I'd suggest replacing the "X" with a trash can, which is a semi-universal UI symbol for "delete".
I also noticed a few issues with the initiative tracker (tonight 6/12/26 when I was running my game) -
One monster was accidentally doubled in the tracker and one was missing.
When I deleted one of the "duplicate" monsters, both copies disappeared and then I couldn't add either monster back in to initiative because it was already started - yes, the "X" button was a partial factor in this happening.
When I went to subtract damage or heal the monster, it increased the points damage/healing done beyond the number I typed in to adjust the HP.
When I hit "next" in the initiative, it kept skipping over at least one person/character in the order consistently, sometimes 2 characters. If I tried to go back, it skipped the same way when going backwards.
I know I'm relatively new to running a game, but this was a bit buggier than it was before. I also noticed by players getting a bit frustrated by the big info boxes popping up every time they clicked on their character icons which obscured large parts of their screens. They said something about wishing it was more of a right click function so they could "choose" when to bring it up. That may be more of a needing to get used to the difference in functionality, but worth noting that it was something that hindered game play for several people who were running off of devices like iPads or 13" laptop screens due to travel or limited device options and restricted screen size.
I know it's counter intuitive as well, but people have had far more responses from WOTC_Zac by posting these issues on Reddit. Shouldn't be that way, but it is what it is.
I also think this was a preexisting issue before the UX changes though.
