My character is a Hill Dwarf Life Cleric. He is using "Iron Fang" from the Princes of Apocalypse campaign. This weapon is a +2 war pick. He isn't proficient with the weapon so obviously the proficiency bonus does not apply but under attacks on the character sheet it shows up as +2 to hit and damage. It should be +4 to both since his strength bonus is +2. When I add a +2 mace it then adds the strength modifier. Is this a bug because as I read the players handbook I interpret it to say that the strength modifier should still apply whether the character is proficient with the weapon or not.

Thoughts?
Make sure you have attuned to the weapon the +2 is most likely your STR not the weapon's +2.
