We all love of the idea of wielding unique weapons in tabletop games such as Dungeons and Dragons, but when it comes to homebrew creations we all have different ideas of how to approach the concept of designing such items. During the last few years using this website I have found that actually creating unique weapons via D&DBeyond's homebrew creator's tool is a bit difficult to use. I am unable to actually alter a weapon's damage information to be properly displayed on character sheets and in an item listing. For example, I want an oversized sword to deal 3d10 of damage instead of 2d6. It seems simple enough - pick the weapon we want to modify then change the details. The main problem is the actual damage does not change when viewed in the character sheet nor the weapon listing when searched through the 'manage inventory' button. I am unsure if I have been missing something to properly modify the damage besides the 'modifiers' section. If there is a solution to fix this issue or there are plans for D&DBeyond to change this tool please let me know below.
