Hello all, I'm having an issue with my lightfoot halfling bard (level 2) gaining an extra +1 to initiative. My initial assumption is that "Jack of all Trades" is applying its bonus (+3 Dex) to my initiative (+4 initiative). Is this a correct application of JoaT? I have no other skills, equipment, or bonuses that affect initiative.
You are right, it is an ability check, not a skill check. Still eligible for JoaT, since it is an ability check that doesn't include the proficiency bonus.

Yes, Initiative is a
skillability check, so eligible for Jack of all Trades.Thanks. I couldn't figure out if initiative was considered a skill check or not.
I knew initiative was an ability check, but disnt know it was a skill. Does that mean it's possible to be proficient in it?
