I noticed that when creating a new character, I can filter the available races by sourcebook. I selected Basic Rules and noticed that the Eladrian subrace appeared under Elf. This appears to be a bug, as Eladrian was added with Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes.
Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes is part of the Core D&D source, meaning if you have access to the book, the contents are always available in the character builder. Currently the only sources you can toggle off are:
Magic the Gathering Content (Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica, Mythic Odysseys of Theros)
Eberron Content (Eberron: Rising from the Last War, Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron)
Rick & Morty Content (Dungeons & Dragons vs Rick & Morty)
Noncore D&D Content (The Tortle Package, Mordenkainen's Fiendish Folio Volume 1, Rrakkma, Lost Laboratory of Kwalish, Locathah Rising, Infernal Machine Rebuild, Sapphire Dragon)
Anything not list above in parenthesises is core content and always included in the character builder, including options from Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes
Edit: It also should be noted that the Eladrin (Variant) from the Dungeon Master's Guide is freely available to all users, and this too is classed under Core Content.
Yes, but I'm not talking about the sources you toggle at the beginning of the character builder, but the filter on the Races section. At the very least, this result is unexpected
I.e. not here as you describe:
But here on the Races tab:
Worth noting that MToF is a separate entry in this filter list, and only shows MToF subraces when selected.
I've also just noticed that Warlock appears to be included in the Basic Rules on D&D Beyond (https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/basic-rules/classes#Warlock). I've sanity-checked the latest Basic Rules v1.0 PDF from WotC and can't find Warlock mentioned.
Note that the Eladrin from the Basic Rules selection is different from the Eladrin from MToF (the picture is the clue). The first is a Variant Elf from the DMG.
It's also worth noting that DNDBeyond sortof includes the Basic Rules and the SRD under the same name of Basic Rules - so there may be some discrepancies.

I didn't notice that, thanks. Kinda makes sense, being that the filter is clearly just a nicety for character creation, not intended to limit availability throughout the process (unlike the sources selection at the beginning).

This is frustrating but I understand how it can be complex to structure a system like DnDBeyond and how they've probably had to make tradeoffs to get the content into the system.
Thanks for enlightening me.
