When creating armor, (specifically magical type, probably happens for non-magical too, but I haven't checked) when I select Plate as the base armor type, even if I manually override the automatic "Str requirement" with 0 and the Stealth Disadvantage by saying "None" in the "stealth check" box, the item description still shows 15 str required and Stealth Disadvantage.
If I then go ahead and add a modifier saying "Stealth Disadvantage: Remove" it just shows both stealth disadvantage, and remove stealth disadvantage on the item's notes when viewing it, instead of nullifying each other. While this isn't major, as anyone could tell the two must cancel out, it doesn't look good on the item, and the issue of str 15 requirement being there still remains.
Basically, despite us supposedly being able to overrule the default item stats in creating items, this doesn't seem to actually be working.
Try starting with mithral armor and change armor type from there.
While possibly a viable workaround in this particular instance, but doesn't solve the problem. If for example, I just wanted to change the Str requirement but not the rest? Or if I wanted to only remove the Stealth disadvantage but not the Str requirement?
Sure, it works for both if you go from Mithral to something else - but the capability is still broken regardless.
I appreciate the gesture, but the point was instead to get the bug noticed and fixed, because it makes things harder than they need to be. If say, you're making a custom version of some other armor that already exists, you should be able to just base it from that armor and make small changes as needed instead of having to base it off an armor that you aren't using, and then make further ones.
For example, I didn't base this armor off any armor - it was "create from scratch". Still had the same problem, because you still have to select a "base armor type" on the actual creation page where you input actual item details.
Also, sadly, it doesn't actually work. If you copy Mithral Plate, then try going from there? It doesn't let you create the armor with a Str requirement of 0. While you could just put in a 1 and be done with it... it doesn't make the proper "card" for the finished product if you do. That part of creation is bugged and needs fixing. It gets close enough for use, but isn't properly polished is all.
Thanks for trying to help though! It was a good idea for a workaround, even if it didn't work.
