Hey I'm just wondering Will at any point customers who bought a hardcopy book be able to some how get the digital one for free if they have proof of purchase or something . Like a tag code ?
Unfortunately there is no unique code associated to any one specific copy of the physical manuals that would allow this.
The only way to do it would be for WotC to start including such codes in the new releases of the manuals, but even then any book purchased before this would still be not possible to be validated. On top of the above, Curse and WotC are two separate entities, and Curse has created and is running Beyond under license from WotC, so the inclusion of such codes would have at least the following effects:
Hurt Curse by taking away the main way they have of paying the license to WotC;
Most probably increase sensibly the cost of the manual itself;
Force Curse to increase the cost of their subscription and possibly gatekeep some tools behind subscription (all tools are 100% free right now) in order to remain afloat.
An option you have, since all the homebrew tools are free, is to manually input the stuff missing from the Basic Rules that you would need into the homebrew system. These cannot be published (made available to everyone on the website) but they can be used privately by you and anyone who is part of a campaign here with you.
