Normally, only spells that can be EFFECTIVELY upcast will be listed under higher level spell slot areas in the "Spells" area of the character sheet. Rope Trick has no new effect when upcast so I believe it should not be shown there.
He has access to the second level spell Rope Trick through GloomStalker Ranger. Now that he has 3rd level spells it shows Rope Trick in the 3rd level spell area as well.
On a related note, it would be nice to have a setting where I can have spells ONLY appear at the base cast level rather than showing all my upcast options

Disguise self is also doing it. Might have to do with gloom stalker magic.
