Hi there! Im trying to create a feat to enable the extra cantrip accessed by [magic item]All Purpose Tool[/magic item]. So I've gotten as far as having the cantrip appear in my spell list (fire bolt), but I can't get it to access my spell ability modifier in the To Hit number. i.e. My character* is now level 17 and with my All Purpose Tool +1, my To Hit for fire bolt should be +12 but it is only reading as +7. What do I input to gain the mod? Additionally, what input do I use to add my +5 from Intelligence to my damage roll from my Alchemical Savant class feature (after adding a new modifier field of course)?
Below is my settings as they appear as of posting:
Hjalmar Gunderson, Vuman Alchemist Plague Doctor in a HB Campaign, Post Netherese Invasion Cormyr (lvl20 retired) Godfrey, Autognome Butler in Ghosts of Saltmarsh into Spelljammer Grímr Skeggisson, Goliath Rune Knight in Rime of the Frostmaiden DM of two HB campaigns set in the same world.
Ok cool! Thank you again. Is there a way to get the +5 to damage for the cantrip through the fake feat or should I just resort to modifying the spell?

The feat should be using your Int and PB the way I have it set up, it does on mine. Did you re-save the whole feat after adjusting the Spell parameters?
Yep, so the To Hit is working adequately now. Thank you. Now Im wondering about getting my spell mod as damage for 4d10+5 using this feat (green arrows) or will i just have to modify the spell like I did Acid Splash (red arrow) to get its +5.

Spells don’t normally add Spellcasting ability modifier to their damage rolls. (Weapons do, spells don’t.) If you want that then yes, you will have to manually adjust it because it goes against RAW.
Yeah, Alchemical Savant in the artificer list is a pretty rare bonus. That and Agonizing Blast are about the only ones I can think of that do it. Ok, thanks again mate.

Plus the system doesn’t know when you’re using the required tools or not, so it assumes not since it’s easier to add mentally than subtract for most folks. (Plus, that’s precisely why we can customize this stuff anyway.)
