I currently have a sorcerer sub-class (https://www.dndbeyond.com/subclasses/143332-wish-singer) that I'm working on. The 'Illusion Song' class feature has a 'spell' action that contains all the details about how the ability actually works (save dc, pass/fail effects, range, etc.). I can see it when I'm editing and everything looks correct. When I actually go to view the finished sub-class description though, that action is nowhere to be found. Is this a bug? What is the point of having that feature if no one but the original author can see it?
"Action" is a mechanical addition to a feature which displays on the character sheet in the proper action section (Action, Bonus Action, Reaction, etc.). To have the details display when viewing the subclass as a whole from the descriptor page, the information must be entered into the Description.
Ok, that makes sense. You would think they would just display it instead of making use type everything in twice.
Well you could have a feature that does more than just add an action, in which case the action would not say everything the feature does.
I understand that, but I'm thinking more in the other direction. If a Feature has an Action, it should display it's information AND the details of the action.
