That’s correct. Below level 5, green flame blade doesn’t deal damage to the target of the melee attack, it just adds damage to a secondary target without having to roll an attack on them. At L5 it does added damage to both targets.
What I'm saying is, the GFB in my action list is showing as 1D8 still. I'm level 7. I kinda get why it'd be weird though, because it actually has two separate damage values going out. I don't really *care*, because I can read. Just reporting something that may be a bug.
I’m seeing the same issue. I’m level 6 and it’s still only showing 1d8. Also, its the only spell that doesn’t have an option to “display as action” in the customize section of the spell.

Green Flame Blade doesn't seem to be updating it's damage as you level up. At level 7 it still shows 1D8 in my spell list.
