In my group is a bard who has the same Dex as my Druid, but she gets a +3 on her Initiative, while my Druid only gets +2, because of Jack of All Trades.
That is what I thought, but at 4th level my bard’s init stayed the same. It should have increased by 1. Also, that seems ridicules because at high levels, a bard’s init would be insane.

Jack of all trades adds half proficiency rounded down, so it won't increase at level 5, but it will increase at level 9. And it caps at +3 level 17, which is far from insane (even with max DEX that is only +8).
I’ve noticed that when you make a bard character, it adds +1 one to your initiative. Why is that? is it a glitch?
Jack of all trades adds half proficiency to all ability checks. Including initiative.
Might be related to Jack of All Trades?

That makes since. I was thinking half your level, not halt your proficiency.
