I had an idea for a warlock patron inspired by the Kane chronicles that I originally titled The Chained God, but then learned who that was and changed it to The Imprisoned. When I look at it, the system says it cannot publish the subclass because licensed or homebrew content is mapped to it. It says this is most commonly caused by “licensed spells,” but I have no idea what that means.
Licensed spells are spells that are not available in the free Basic Rules or SRD content provided by Wizards of the Coast. If you have used any of these spells in your homebrew, you will not be able to share it publicly.
Also important to note: Make sure that you are not referencing any copyrighted content from the Kane chronicles in your homebrew if you wish to publish it, as that may be grounds for its removal.
You do not need to publish homebrew in order for you and your players to use them in your private campaigns.
Hope that helps!
