So for a fun cautionary cursed magic item tale I tried making a home brew crown that when attuned basically cast feeble mind on the wearer. No one dies and as soon as they attune the party can remove curse and save them. That being said the set INT and Set CHAR stats to 1 down seem to work. They show up in the stat breakdown when I equip the item to a character and attune but the stats don’t actually change. In addition when I try to force my test characters stats to 1 with an override it auto changes to 3 as the lowest giving a mod of -4. Am I doing something wrong? Or is there some restriction on lowering stats below 3. My character is a half elf bard so race ability gives +2 so not sure if that matters.
I was trying to make a cursed magic item that gave the effects of the feeble mind spell. I was able to set the int and char to 1 in the magic item details but it doesn’t actually work when I test it on a character. In addition I can’t force the change with an override because the override automatically caps at 3.
We're well aware of this - and the devs have this on their to-do list to add. In addition, please try to keep threads regarding the same issue to one singular post :)

Thank you very much. I replied to another similar post from a year ago and decided to make a new post I did not realize they were connected.
